Thank you Zuby! The commandment tells us to honor our parents, not love our parents. What genius in those words! My mom's father was not a good father, pretty much the opposite of it. Yet, at the end of his life, my mom made sure he was taken care of properly, in a good place, and he was more than comfortable. She definitely didn't love him, but she did honor him.
Wishing for you that your kiddos will honor you and love you!
Congrats on joining the dad club. Fatherhood is not just the most important job. It’s the most fun and rewarding things we do in life. Blessings to you and your family!
Great write-up, Zuby. I speak from first-hand experience. Many of the challenges I’ve overcome in adulthood trace back to growing up in a dysfunctional environment. The process in overcoming many of my shortcomings made me aware just how foundational parenting is in a persons development. So it makes a lot of sense that if we parent better, we make better humans. And if we make better humans, we make a better society. It all starts in the home. We should speak much more about the importance of it.
Thanks for this article! Being a parent is the MOST important job...& probably the hardest one too! My parents didn’t do a perfect job by any means, but they overall taught us hard work & good morals. If there’s one thing I learned from their mistakes, it’s that we as parents need to OWN our mistakes. Admitting to our kids when we mess up goes a long way.
It's true! Everything you said. I happened to have truly great parents, whom I did not fully appreciate until they were gone. I hope to spend eternity, giving thanks for them.🙏♥️
I am delighted you became a father. The world needs a rake of Mini Zubys with their own personalities in the New World. Congratulations to you and your wife.

Well said Zuby. Thank you.
Thanks. Glad you liked it.
"For this cause I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and earth is named...."
God is the original and perfect type of Fatherhood itself.
This prayer of Paul's in Ephesians is worthy of memorization.
